"End"
---
Twenty One Years
Male

Myers-Brigg Personality Type: ESTJ
End always fought for others, never giving his own well being a second thought. He finds it difficult to give up on others. He feels if he’s given up on others, he’s given up on himself-and this gives him an extremely low self esteem, as people rarely are willing to continue after they give up. His willingness to help others shows him as an extrovert, but his extreme dislike of crowds and preference of close friends shows him to be an introvert. He puts all of his energy into worrying, meeting new people, and keeping calm. He’s very difficult to anger, only doing so when somebody is threatening his friends, family, or any animal. If everything is going right, and nobody is in need of assistance, End will be happy.

End was born and raised in Wyoming. From a young age, he unnerved every relative that visited with unnervingly bright violet eyes, to the point that nobody visited anymore. When he was four, his parents introduced him to a pair of future driving yearlings. Two Cleveland Bays, a miraculous pair of twins. He joined them in basic care-largely feeding and watering. As he-and they-grew, he took on more responsibility with them. At ten, he began working with the pair alone. They went to numerous competitions, never winning but enjoying the experience.
A few days after he turned thirteen, he began to experience back pain. It never bothered him, and he never mentioned it. As he got closer and closer to fourteen, it grew worse and worse. A few months after his fourteenth birthday, he was barely able to move properly and finally told his parents. They immediately took him to the doctor, and discovered he had compressed nerves along his spine. The doctor recommended a Laminectomy, and three days later he had the surgery. They kept him under observation for five days, not sure how much it would affect him. He wasn’t able to return to working with the horses for six months-and during that time, his parents were forced to sell the pair due to low funds. When End found out, he was crushed. A few months later, they moved to Nevada.
Upon turning sixteen, End took up a job with an elderly trainer near his home. The trainer did his best to teach End everything he knew. End continued to work with him until the day the trainer died. His son, a headstrong young man, took over his father’s job. End took an instant disliking to him. The man gave the horses little reward for being over-worked, and very little feed. He acted as if they were broken machines, all to be fixed in the same way. End took to sneaking in during the night to give the horses a proper amount of feed, and try to undo what the son had been doing.
One night, the new trainer stayed in his office, doing paperwork. He heard the sounds of somebody moving around outside and called the police. Having done that, he went to apprehend whoever it was. Finding End, he began to yell at him, accusing him of breaking the horses further. End snapped. He lunged forward, lashing out with all his power. The rest of his memory blurred until he was being pulled away from the unconscious trainer by two police officers. A few days later, he was in a prison for Aggravated Assault and Battery. A few more days later, and he had a cell mate-the trainer.
Knowing of End’s back difficulties, the trainer took to harassing him and increasing the amount of work the violet eyed male had to do until the pain started to return. Noting it, End requested a transfer, explaining the situation. A few months later, he was transferred to a solitary cell. He was told about the program at Sunrise Ranch, and begged his way onto the list to go.
Juno
Grullo
15.2 Hands
Mare
Three Years
Juno always tended to stand out in her herd. She was a color none had seen before, except for on a dun standing in the moonlight. Her sire ignored her, and her dam had little contact with her. Only one mare of the large herd paid her any attention, and it was largely just to make sure she wasn’t getting into any mischief. The other foals pushed her around, often leaving her lying on the ground with cuts and scrapes. She never learned to stand up for herself. Juno grew timid, fearful, and distrustful. Whenever tensions arose in the herd, she would vanish. Seeing the older horses fight always put the young colts in the fighting mood-and they always targeted her.
One day, when she fled a rather nasty fight across numerous horses in the herd, she returned to find the mare that’d cared for her dead, along with three other mares. The colts didn’t seek her out-they’d fled with a small group of mares and the lead stallion. The second in command and a few young mares, barely old enough to be considered mares, remained. He spotted Juno approaching and allowed her to join them. The mares all seemed to disagree with this choice, as they constantly harassed or ignored the young filly. Life continued this way until she was about two years of age. A rival stallion took on their lead. He didn’t win, but while he was leaving, discovered Juno out by herself.
The grullo took off, recognizing him to have been one of the older colts that had been in the original herd. He chased her for hours, until she was completely lost. It was new territory to her, but a commonly hiked area by humans. She was growing tired and weak. Not able to hear him crashing behind her anymore, Juno paused to take a drink. A few seconds later, the stallion sprung. He abused her horribly, leaving her bleeding beside the stream to die. Not terribly long after, a hiker came across her. He instantly recalled Sunrise Ranch and made the call that would prove to save her-physically.
Juno was taken in, vetted, and generally cared for. Her physical wounds healed, leaving only a few scars. But the mental wounds remain, leaving her trapped in fear, hatred, and distrust.
